Services offered

Brett offers both couples and individual therapy and coaching. While most sessions are offered in virtual format, sessions can also be in person in our dedicated therapy space at Egret Isle Farm near Austin, Texas. Egret Isle Farm also hosts Brett’s work with horses in equine assisted psychotherapy. Finally, Brett also offers weekend couples’ intensives and group retreats.

Couples’ Intensives

Why Choose an Intensive Weekend?

For some couples, the conventional therapy session may not delve deep enough or offer the intensity required to address the intricate issues surrounding infidelity and relationship recovery. Our marriage therapy intensive weekends provide a focused, immersive experience crafted to accelerate healing and transformation within a condensed time frame. We hope to offer group experiences later this year, but initially our couples’ intensives will be offered for one couple at a time. Since every couple’s situation is different, the weekend will be tailored to the specific needs of individual couples.

Here’s why it might be the perfect choice for you:

Focused Attention: Over the course of the weekend, you’ll engage in 14-15 hours of both individual and couples counseling with myself and the seasoned therapists I am working with. We will provide personalized attention for profound exploration and targeted interventions tailored to your unique needs.

Breakthrough Moments: The concentrated nature of intensive weekends often leads to breakthrough moments and swift progress in healing and communication, serving as a significant catalyst for your journey of recovery.

Opportunity for Connection: A weekend away from the hustle and bustle of daily life sets the stage for couples to reconnect, rebuild trust, and fortify their bond in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Holistic Approach to Healing: Immerse yourself in non-therapeutic opportunities for personal reflection, relaxation, and rejuvenation. This could include mindfully walking the labyrinth and other meditative practices, exploring the natural beauty of the 20-acre farm, its ponds, trails, and animals.

What We Offer:

Specialized Therapy: I and my colleagues are seasoned marriage therapists specializing in infidelity recovery. We offer tailored counseling to assist couples in navigating the challenges of betrayal and rebuilding trust.

Expertise in Trauma Treatment: I collaborate with other therapists from the Affair Recovery network who specialize in trauma treatment. This ensures care and support for individuals processing the emotional impact of infidelity in ways that best meet their needs.

Specialized Therapeutic Activities: Weekends can be tailored to include trauma treatments such as EMDR and equine assisted therapy. They will be facilitated by expert therapists, to address the emotional wounds caused by infidelity and promote healing and growth.

Insight from others who have walked the path of recovery from infidelity: My wife Kay will be joining us for some aspects of the weekend and available to talk about her experience of our journey through infidelity and beyond.

Comfortable Accommodations: While lodging is not included, we offer recommendations for nearby accommodations, including an onsite option you may be interested in.

Meals: The following meals will be provided: Friday lunch, Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch, Sunday breakfast. Dinners will be on your own as we hope you can use this time to relax and connect with each other by yourselves. Nearby restaurant options will be provided.

Cost: The cost for the weekend will be between $3,000-$3500. It will vary depending on exactly what is needed and the involvement of other therapists. An exact price will be given after a scheduled consultation. Given the greater efficiency of an in-person weekend intensive context over periodic virtual sessions, this represents a cost savings over all. The price includes everything that happens at the retreat, but does not include transportation, lodging, and meals out.
